The 2020 Hydration for Health Early Career Researcher Award applications are now open!

Hydration for Health invites early career researchers in the field of hydration and health to submit an abstract of their work and participate to the Pitch Your Science! challenge during the 12th Hydration for Health Scientific conference on June 24th 2020 in Evian, France. The Hydration for Health Scientific Conference is a talent accelerator and a key place for new investigators to present their research on hydration and connect with a dynamic network.

Scope

The scientific work should be submitted in the form of an abstract and describe the results of novel research that contributes to the scientific field of hydration and health. Submission is encouraged in, but not restricted to, the following areas related to hydration: nutrition, diet, cardiovascular diseases, obesity prevention and public health interventions, hydration biomarkers, cognition, kidney health, behavior, well-being, fluid and water intake studies.


Eligibility Criteria

The application is restricted to early career researchers (Ph.D. students, post-doctoral students, medical students, dietitian students, obesity students etc..) who do not have a permanent position in an academic institution, a non-governmental organization nor in industry.

Submissions must be in ENGLISH ONLY and must be received by the deadline, April 10th 2020 5 pm CET.

Previous candidates are welcome to participate provided that the research subject is new.

Selection process

The deadline for application is April 10th 2020, 5 pm CET to the following e-mail address: ecra@hydrationforhealth.com

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Hydration for Health organizing committee and six (6) finalists will receive a travel award to attend the 12th Hydration for Health Scientific conference and participate in the “Pitch Your Science!” challenge on June 24th 2020 in Evian, France.

The selected candidates will have three minutes in which to pitch their ongoing research with a maximum of two key results. To help convey the message, one slide (non animated) will be permitted. The first pitch will be made to the Hydration for Health Scientific Committee on June 22th or 23rd and, conditional upon positive feedback, the second pitch will be live during the conference on June 24th.

The winner will be selected live by the audience.

Prize

Hydration for Health will provide travel grants to cover travel, accommodation and registration costs for the six selected candidates to participate in the “Pitch Your Science!“ challenge and attend the Annual Hydration for Health Scientific Conference’s week.

The winner of the competition will receive the Early Career Researcher Award trophy during an award ceremony at the Hydration for Health Scientific Conference. She/he will be given the opportunity to submit a full article in the proceeding of the Hydration for Health Scientific Conference.

All six candidates selected to compete will have the opportunity to publish their abstracts as part of the proceedings of the Annual Hydration for Health Scientific Conference.

Abstract Requirements

Please ensure that your abstract submission complies with the following requirements:

  • Author’s information and resume (300 words maximum).
  • Title (20 words maximum).
  • Authors and Affiliations. The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
  • Key words : 3-4
  • Summary of the research including background, objectives, methods, results, conclusion (500 words maximum).
  • Up to 5 references may be included.
  • Inclusion of 1 table or figure is accepted and strongly recommended
  • Submission is limited to one abstract per author.
