Asian Congress of Nutrition 2019

The 13th Asian Congress of Nutrition from August 4th – 7th in Bali, Indonesia

This congress, held by the Food and Nutrition Society of Indonesia, as well as the Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies, is comprised of symposia and workshops on the topic of nutrition, food to promote innovation, research and communication on this topic.

A Co-symposium session will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 15h30-17h: the Hydration for Health Academy, organized by Danone Aqua.

This session is introduced by Prof Stavros A. Kavouras, PhD, FACSM, FECSS from Arizona State University on the topic of measuring hydration in daily life. This lecture reviews at risk populations of low fluid intake and the methodologies when assessing fluid intake. One specific one is Liq.In 7 study which has, to date, surveyed 15 countries and reported data on patterns of consumptions and locations of drinking events over a 7-day assessment period.

The second session, presented by Clementine Morin, provides an overview on the importance of water in the body through a scientific approach. The importance of body water regulation is described, followed by what the effects of a low consumption of water does on the body and the respective negative health outcomes.
